Obama was seen touching down in a private jet in Sydney on Monday, taking wife Michelle along for the long ride.

The politician, who served as US president between 2009 and 2017, last visited Down Under in November 2014.

‘President Obama faced a number of complex challenges, including the rise of China, ISIL taking territory in Syria and Iraq, the Syrian civil war, the 2008-09 global financial crisis and much more,’ Bishop said ahead of the tour.

‘He sought closer economic relationships with key nations of the Indo-Pacific through enhanced trade. President Obama’s insights into current world events will be invaluable.’
