New MasterChef trailer promises ‘a surprise around every corner’ as the season 15 premiere date is announced
A new trailerĀ has dropped for season 15 of MasterChef Australia, and it promises big things to come this year.
The teaser, shared to the cooking show’sĀ official Instagram account on Monday, features the contestants exploring a maze filled with clues leading them forward.Ā
‘Get ready for a surprise around every corner,’ the caption stats, as the amateur chefs find their way to a dinner party at the centre of the maze.Ā
Judges Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo lead viewers through the maze, as Andy Allen presents a plate of colourful burgers that float in the air attached to balloons.

Eventually, as the contestants reach the centre of the maze where the dinner party is being held, as the three judges beckon them to sit and feast.
Dishes are spread across the long white table, each with their own colourful and unique plating styles which fit the Mad Hatter theme of the teaser.Ā
It comes after Jock revealed the showĀ underwent a makeover for theĀ new season.Ā

The 46-year-old chef told The Australian in November viewersĀ can look forward to a shorter season with fewer contestants.
He also said the series will no longer be bringing back past ‘favourites’, which has been the theme of recent seasons.
The Melbourne-based restaurateur added that MasterChef 2023 will have a celebrity guest judge – possibly Gordon Ramsay.

Most of the details for next year’s season are still under wraps, but Jock confirmed the number of contestants will be limited to 18, down from 24.
The show is also scrapping the preliminaries, with the contestants instead getting straight into the competition, he revealed.
Jock joined the MasterChef judging panel in 2020 alongside food critic Leong, 41, and restaurateur Allen, 34, after original judges George Calombaris, Gary Mehigan and Matt Preston left the franchise.
