Nina Warhurst was targeted by a cruel troll who told her she looked ‘a mess’ and that they were ‘repulsed by her hair’.

The BBC Breakfast presenter, 42, who is expecting her third child, shared a ‘vitriolic’ message she had been sent after presenting Wednesday’s show.

Nina defiantly took to Twitter after receiving an email criticising her appearance.

She uploaded the email which the troll had sent her. It read: ‘Please do something with your hair. You look a mess! We have to look at you while we are eating out breakfasts, for heavens sake!’ (sic).

Nina accompanied it with the message: ‘Women who do this to women. Too repulsed by my hair to eat her breakfast, but managing to bang out this vitriol.

‘Apart from anything else I can’t bear inaccuracies – I think we can all agree my hair looked [hand heart love emoji].’

The TV host then uploaded a beaming selfie alongside her co-star John Kay showing off her wavy brown bob.

A host of Nina’s celebrity pals took to the comment section to share their support.

Sky’s Hayley McQueen added: ‘Wow, if that’s a bad hair day you should see mine sometimes, they best not switch over to Sky, I might make them actually sick haha. Some people are so strange!’

Rachel Shenton said: ‘The comment says far more about her than it does about your hair! (Which is great btw) xx’.

Last week Nina ‘revealed the gender of her third child’.

The presenter was enjoying an evening out when she appeared to confirm she was having a baby girl.

Exciting: BBC Breakfast presenter Nina ‘revealed the gender of her third child’ last week

Nina revealed that after months of ‘vomiting and migraines’ she discovered she was expecting with her husband Ted.

And that evening Nina attended a Self Esteem gig with pals and was filmed dancing along to her track I Do This All The Time.

As she raised her arms in the air and swayed, her friend wrote across her video, which Nina then re-shared: ‘One for the baby girl’.

She added: ‘First gig’ alongside a love heart emoji, with the video then panning to Nina’s baby bump concealed under a polka dot dress.

In her pregnancy announcement she shared a beaming snap of herself posing in a skin-tight black dress, while cradling her growing baby bump in the BBC studio.

Nina penned on Instagram: ‘Happy Mother’s Day to all of those who are any part of this endless handover of love, values, genes, chaos and perpetually crumb-infested kitchens.

‘I’d like to say “you got this Mama!” But maybe you haven’t. I dunno. It’s hard isn’t it?’

‘That said we are doing it again. It’s been a funky few months… involving intense migraines, vomiting, morning kebabs, first time acne, small acts of violence against fruit, afternoon kebabs, tears, spontaneous snoozes, anxiety and more kebabs.

‘I am settling in to the middle chunk (emphasis on chunk) and enjoying the wonders of Mother Nature and her tiny kicks and flutters. The boys and the cat have been enjoying their new chair God willing, Baby Doner-Shish joins the outside world in the summer.

‘I am blown away that we do this. And acutely aware of the privilege, born of nothing but fortune.’

She signed off by adding: ‘Sending love to those who’ve had to say goodbye to the babies they lost and the ones they dreamed of.’

Nina and Ted are already proud parents to sons Digby, seven, and Michael, five.
