He plays the far right-leaning news network’s resident voting analyst Darwin in Succession and fans have been racking their brains about they’ve seen him before.
Well, British actor Adam Godly, 58, who plays him is hardly a newcomer to the scene. He made his Succession debut in the eighth episode of season four, titled America Decides.
But eagle eyed fans realised he actually plays teacher Mr Trench in 2003 movie, Love Actually.
He’s also appeared in Breaking Bad, Suits, and Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory and in 2011 he appeared in Anything Goes on Broadway for which he earned a Tony Award.
During the episode of Succession, Darwin finds his attempts to accurately analyze the data overruled by the Logan children, namely Roman [Kieran Culkin] and Kendall, [Jeremy Strong].

He resists calling Wisconsin in favour of Roman’s preferred candidate, fascist nationalist Jeryd Mencken, after Milwaukee absentee ballots were set on fire and lost in an act of vandalism.
Shiv [Sarah Snook] insists the ballots would have given Democrat Daniel Jimenez the lead in the state.
While Darwin insists it is too soon to ‘call it’, he soon gets overruled and the agreement is made that they will make the call, but say it is pending.
Then Roman and Kendall decide to say Mencken has won the state and coerce Darwin to explain this live on air, along with a graphic.
However, there then comes a rather farcical scene which sees Greg getting wasabi in Darwin’s eyes.
He tries to get it out by pouring lemon-flavored LaCroix over his face.
Fans took to Twitter immediately after the show aired in the UK on Monday and wrote: ‘Lovely to see the teacher from Love Actually’s career really took off #Succession #WASABI #callarizona.’
‘TFW you realise the wasabi election guy was played by the same actor who was the singing teacher in Love Actually #succession #SuccessionHBO.’

‘The teacher with the scarf from Love Actually was the election results director guy with the wasabi eye situation in Succession, I don’t know why I find that so funny.’
‘Darwin from succession (Adam Godley) is the school teacher from the big “All I Want For Christmas Is You” number in Love Actually and that’s pretty much the only thing I want to talk about from ep 8.’
‘@succession. This Love Actually guy is throwing me off in this very serious episode of Succession.’
Adam spoke to Vulture about his role and said what it was like to film the wasabi scene.
He said: ‘It was a riot. Nick and Matthew, they’re just so funny together. The way that Jesse has organized shooting those things, they’re just coming up and giving you little bombs of alternate jokes to drop in the middle of the scene. ‘
When asked if he actually did get anything in his eyes, he said: ‘I don’t want to say; it’s trade secrets. But no, there was nothing actually sting-y put in my eyes at all.
‘It was all quite safe. They rigged up special cans of whatever that soda was. A nice, pure mineral water.’
According to the Cinemaholic, ‘Godley was born in Buckinghamshire, but grew up in Watford, Hertfordshire.
‘He studied at Rickmansworth School in Croxley County and was avidly interested in acting and performing arts from a young age.
‘Godley made his radio debut aged nine and stage debut aged eleven. Godley made several television appearances as a child artist before working with several theater companies, including the famous Royal Shakespeare Company.’
