Ruth Langsford has shown her allegiance to fellow scorned ITV star Amanda Holden as Phillip Schofield broke his silence after his This Morning affair scandal.
The Loose Women star branded the Britain’s Got Talent judge a ‘goddess’ in a gushing comment under a glamorous post showcasing her latest look from the live semi-finals on Thursday.
Under the snap showcasing Amanda’s stunning white look, consisting of a frilled crop top and a matching skirt, Ruth wrote: ‘LOVE! Goddess.’
Amanda has not shied away from making her feelings known about Phillip in recent years, previously claiming she believed that in 2018 he sabotaged her chances of filling in on This Morning while Holly Willoughby hosted I’m A Celebrity.
Meanwhile Ruth was axed from This Morning in 2020 alongside her husband Eamonn Holmes, who himself claimed there was a ‘total cover-up’ by ITV of Phillip’s affair with the young colleague.

Her comment came as Phillip gave an explosive interview to the BBC after publicly admitting he had an affair with a young colleague, with the fallout leaving his once-respected career in tatters.
Schofield told the BBC he first met his lover when he was 15 and in a theatre school where he offered him career advice without ‘any whiff of impropriety’.
Their sexual relationship began with a kiss in his dressing room at work and led to ‘more’ on around six occasions when the man was around 20. Schofield said they were never in love, and remained ‘mates’ afterwards.
But he vehemently denied grooming him as a teenager before he began working at ITV, declaring: ‘What’s wrong with talking to someone?’
Breaking his silence on the scandal that he admits has ended his career, Schofield claimed he will never be on TV again and revealed he would have taken his own life by now if it wasn’t for his daughters, declaring: ‘I understand how Caroline Flack felt’.
He apologised to his family, friends and ITV viewers for lying about the affair, but insisted that much of the criticism of him since he left This Morning had been homophobic. He also told of a ‘catastrophic effect’ on his mind.
He revealed he texted former co-host Holly Willoughby begging for forgiveness over his This Morning affair lies but she never replied.
Amanda has been embroiled in a years-long feud with Phillip, after she felt ‘let down’ by her friend Phillip when she found out she didn’t get the position and it went to Rochelle.

Shocking: Amanda has not shied away from making her feelings known about Phillip, previously claiming she believed he sabotaged her chances of filling in on This Morning
She had previously filled in for Holly when the This Morning star took a year off the show to have her third child, Chester, now seven, in October 2014.
A former daytime TV executive previously told The Sun: ‘Phillip actively campaigned for Rochelle to get the job despite Amanda being more experienced – and having been told privately she’d got the gig.’
An ITV spokesperson later insisted that Rochelle’s casting was a decision made by producers, telling MailOnline: ‘Presenter line ups on This Morning change regularly and final decisions on these line ups are made by producers and not the presenters.
‘Phillip Schofield is a much loved broadcaster and part of the ITV family. He is a consummate professional and held in high regard at ITV. Amanda is also held in high regard as a judge on one of our biggest shows.’
During their time co-hosting the morning show, Phillip confessed he found working alongside Amanda was ‘occasionally quite scary’.
He told Heat magazine at the time: ‘Amanda kept me on my toes. She has a faulty edit button and she forgets she’s on the telly, which is enormously endearing and funny, but occasionally quite scary.’
After Phil stepped down from This Morning, Amanda posted a strongman emoji on Instagram in what appeared to be a sign of celebration.
She did not caption the post as she remained mysterious about its meaning.
Meanwhile, Ruth is yet to publicly speak on Phillip’s affair scandal, although her husband Eamonn claimed that they were both ‘used’ in the daytime star’s coming-out announcement back in 2020.
Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford, who used to co-present This Morning on Fridays, had not been told why Schofield would be sitting on the sofa with them that day, claiming ITV bosses simply said the former presenter ‘had something say’.
He told his fellow GB News presenter Dan Wootton tonight that the reason was only revealed when Schofield came into the pair’s dressing room and ‘[fell] down on his knees crying’ and announced ‘I’m gay’.
At the time Holmes said he and his wife were ‘very, very supportive’ of Schofield, comforting him by hugging him and telling him ‘we’ll stand by you’.
Holmes has now claimed that the announcement by the now fallen presenter was made as part of a ‘cover up’ for what the former presenter, who stepped down from his role at ITV two weeks, called an ‘unwise, but not illegal’ affair with a younger colleague.
Schofield plunged ITV into crisis mode on Friday after he admitted he had lied about the relationship with his former lover, who he reportedly met when the young man was 15.
He said: ‘We were lied to. And Ruth and I to this day are embarrassed and ashamed when we see those pictures, when we see the toils that some people who are tortured by their sexuality have to go through and this was a cover up for something else.’
‘We feel angry, we feel angry about that, we feel used,’ he added.
Holmes noted how during the filming of the live broadcast, the presenters were accompanied by ‘the head of Director of Programs Kevin Lygo, the director of daytime Emma Gormley, Martin Frizzel’.
There were also representatives from the stars’ talent managers YMU, he claimed, adding the appearance of the show’s big players made them ‘feel this is not our show at all’.
He alleged that Schofield and Willoughby had ‘rehearsed [the episode] for days as to what they were going to say and do and who was going to hug who’.

‘Holly was very specific about where she sat, where Phillip sat, where Ruth sat, where I sat. It was all choreographed.’
It comes as former ITV producer Christo Foufas, who is now a presenter at TalkTV, reported that the young man had been removed off This Morning after ‘declaring his love for Phil’ at the National Television Awards in January 2020.
He said that the young man was then shunted to another programme on the daytime network.
Just ten days later Schofield wrote an emotional Instagram post revealing he was gay, moments before making the announcement live on air with Holmes, Langsford and Willoughby.
