Cillian Murphy enjoys a five-hour drinking session and urinates in alley during boozy day out in Soho

Cillian Murphy had a boozy five-hour drinking session in London this week.

The Peaky Blinders actor, 46, first enjoyed pints of Guinness with the show’s creator Steven Knight.

He looked to be in good spirits, smiling as he chatted with Steven during their pub trip.

The star also signed autographs for fans and pictures of his character Thomas Shelby when they spotted him at the pub.

Later, he began to sink champagne at French House and Steven drank the rest of the bottle before he left at 8pm.

Cillian continued the party, meeting up with some more friends at the venue.

He made his own exit from the Central London spot about an hour later- and was then seen urinating with his hood up in a nearby alleyway before heading home.

Their meet-up comes amid news of a reported Peaky Blinders film, which will be released in 2024.

Steven has previously said the film will focus on World War Two stories related to the group.

In 2022, Cillian revealed the lengths he went to in order to get the right look for his Peaky Blinders character.

The actor said his build means he doesn’t come across as the most ‘imposing’ person, so he bulked up to portray the leader of the Birmingham criminal gang, the Peaky Blinders.

He told Radio Times: ‘I’m not a very physically imposing person. So I have to eat a lot of protein and lift a lot of weights and do all that stuff. So that takes a while, which I hate.’

The Irish actor went on to recall the time he spent with show creator Steven Knight in the Garrison pub in Birmingham so he could get to know Steven’s friends.

The star took in their accents during their time together to hone Tommy’s voice in the series.

He explained: ‘We’re just drinking Guinness there, and they’re singing Birmingham City songs and telling all sorts of stories, and I was recording on my iPhone.

‘And then I took that home, and used it to try and track the accents, you know. And then I would call Steve and just leave voicemails on his phone in the accent and see how close I was to it.’

Cillian said he finally came to the conclusion that Tommy’s ‘power’ was in the way he looked at people, adding that it was his ‘stillness’ that helped him have a hold over people.
