And showing he’s fully back in the game, Peter recently announced that he is set to release a brand new memoir this September.

The comedian has written about his ‘obsession for TV and working in it’ in the new book, which is already available for pre-order.

Named ‘Introducing… T.V. Big Adventures on the Small Screen’, the memoir will take a trip down memory lane as Peter recalls the last 25 years in showbiz.

It is his first memoir in 14 years, after previously releasing ‘Saturday Night Peter Kay’ – an autobiography which picked up from where his 2006 book The Sound of Laughter left off.

Sharing the news via his official Instagram account, Peter shared a graphic of a wrapped up book as he teased that the cover was ‘to be revealed’.

Speaking on the new release, Peter explained: ‘I’d wanted for years to write about my obsession for TV and working in it.

‘It’s been such a massive pleasure recalling the adventures I’ve had over the last twenty-five years both in front and behind the camera, and I hope people will enjoy reading about the journey as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it.’

The book is being published with Harper Collins, with publisher Kate Elton sharing: ‘All of us at HarperNonFiction are absolutely over the moon to be publishing Peter.

‘He’s quite simply one of the most beloved entertainers in Britain, and T.V. is a hilariously funny, wonderfully warm journey through the popular culture of the last forty years.

‘Chock-full of TV gossip, brilliant one-liners and, of course, irresistible observational comedy, it’s exactly the book every Peter Kay fan has been waiting for.’
