Caleb Dingle was left seething with his secret son Nicky Milligan as Tuesday’s episode of Emmerdale drew to a close.
Scheming nanny Nicky (Lewis Cope) has left viewers stunned in recent instalments of the ITV soap as he and Caleb (Will Ash) plot to bring down businesswoman Kim Tate (Claire King) and get his hands on her fortune.
And soap fans have now predicted the exact reason why the pair’s revenge plan against Kim will fail as dramatic scenes unfolded this week.
Having secured a job looking after the children at Kim’s Home Farm, Nicky forged a questionable relationship with Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) before going on to propose to her in a bid to win over Kim’s trust.
But Nicky’s life is starting to get very complicated as he was seen sharing a passionate kiss with newcomer, secret boyfriend Ally (Josh Horrocks), in Monday’s episode, before they spent the night together, leaving Gabby fearful as she had no clue about her fiancé’s whereabouts.

Nicky returned to Home Farm during Tuesday’s episode with his tail between his legs, insisting to Gabby he’d bumped into an old friend and had a few drinks, with the night turning into ‘a bit of a sesh’, leaving him too drunk to get home.
While Gabby was quick to forgive Nicky, sending him upstairs to bed to sleep off his apparent hangover, his father Caleb was less than impressed, surmising his son had slept with an unidentified woman.
Cracking under the pressure of the accusations, Nicky admitted to Caleb he had been unfaithful to Gabby, although not revealing it had been with another man.
Rocked, a furious Caleb became even more hostile towards Nicky, lamenting him for putting their revenge plan in danger.
Later in the episode, Gabby attempted to whisk Nicky up to the bedroom as the remainder of his ‘hangover’ lifted, but Nicky turned down her offer, insisting they head to the pub for something to eat.
Caleb was once again left seething, berating Caleb for not pleasing his fiancée.
Nicky was soon heard begging Caleb to turn their back on Home Farm, with their twisted web of lies becoming too much.
And viewers insist Nicky will soon come out as gay to his father as he’s unable to suppress his feelings for Ally any longer and keep their romance a secret, foiling their plot against Kim.

Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: ‘If Caleb’s plans go wrong it’ll because of Nicky’s unpredictable behaviour. Never send a boy to do a man’s job is rather apt.’
‘The cracks were showing last night between Nicky & Caleb & daddy doesn’t know his son is gay… interesting. Can definitely see Nicky turning on Caleb,’ predicted another viewer.
Someone else shared: ‘So Nicky is gay and has hidden that well with his “love” for Gabby but I have a feeling THIS might be his downfall if he gets caught out with his real lover and I wonder if Caleb knows about his sexuality or not.’
Another soap fan posted: ‘Well Nicky in a tricky situation, trying to keep Grabby Gabby happy.’
Mysterious newcomer Ally arrived in the village last week as Nicky was in the midst of planning his wedding to Gabby following his shock proposal earlier this month.
However, it was immediately obvious during last Thursday’s episode that Nicky and Ally were connected, with Nicky appearing on edge as Ally told Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy): ‘Oh, we go way back, don’t we, Nicky? You wouldn’t believe the things we’ve got up to.’
And with soap fans theorising on what the nature of the relationship between Nicky and Ally could be, it appeared many of them were right, as when Monday’s episode drew to a close, the pair were seen locking lips after exchanging some heated words.

Earlier in the episode viewers watched Nicky’s plan to steal a car from Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) unfold, although things did not go to plan.
Nicky has teamed up with his father Caleb (Will Ash), who is also Cain’s brother, to launch a revenge plot against Kim.
The pair, who have connections with Frank Tate, have been trying to destroy Kim and Home Farm and are taking steps to put their plot in the works.
But Nicky made a risky move in Friday’s episode as he plotted to steal from the formidable Cain after the pair came into conflict.
Nicky was seen in Cain’s garage on Monday as he attempted to steal the vehicle, hoping sell it and give the money to Caleb and win his approval in the process.
But Nicky was rumbled when Cain walked in and spotted Nicky, leaving him furious with an altercation ensuing.
Nicky was left heartbroken after his father Caleb stood by and watched him get attacked as he fled the garage, with Caleb having next to no sympathy with his son as he is determined for his plan to take down Kim to come to fruition.
Caleb told Nicky to go home and lick his paws, while ensuring his fiancée Gabby is happy.

However, Nicky had other plans and at the end of the episode Ally was seen pulling up on a remote countryside road in a yellow Mini.
Keen to get an explanation from Nicky, Ally asked him why he was marrying Gabby when she is ‘not his type’, branding the engagement a ‘sham’.
Nicky protested, insisting he was not ‘playing at anything’, before grabbing Ally and throwing him against the car before leaning in for a kiss.
While the dramatic scenes may have come as a surprise to some, many viewers had mixed feelings, with some taking to Twitter to insist they had already worked out what was going to happen between Nicky and Ally.
One person wrote: ‘Could tell Nicky was gay from the word go and I knew that was his boyf,’ while someone else joked: ‘Shocker Nicky is gay!!’
Another viewer posted: ‘I’m so happy!!!! Nicky & his mate … I worked that out when they met up at the Hop.’
While someone else shared: ‘#Emmerdale knew it! Nicky is gay! I knew he was just using Gabby from the start but it all makes sense now.’

One other viewer wrote: ‘I thought that lad was Nicky’s fella I was right. #Emmerdale.’
One shaken soap fan posted: ‘So the guy Nicky hated seeing in the village and looked shocked to see him other week, now back as Nicky’s phoned him arranged to meet him and now kissing him. Rollercoaster feel like Jekyll and Hyde Nicky … whatever next.’
While someone else jested: ‘Now we know why he really hates Gabby. Nicky is gay and forced to sleep with her.’
