Emmerdale fans spot huge blunder in Caleb’s plot to steal Kim’s fortune as Nicky tries to push forward wedding to Gabby

Eagle-eyed Emmerdale fans called out an editing blunder on Monday night’s show.

Viewers watched as Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) hacked Kim Tate’s computer (Claire King) in the latest bid to steal her fortune.

Caleb and his son Nicky (Lewis Cope) are attempting to scam businesswoman Kim  out of her money in a bid to stop their own family facing financial ruin.

Nicky is engaged to Gabby Thomas as part of his father’s plot to take over Home Farm – but viewers know he’s actually in a relationship with a man called Ally.

On Monday’s episode, the pair were up to their scheming ways as Caleb broke into Kim’s computer, while Nicky tried to push forward his wedding to Gabby so they could get their hands on the fortune sooner.

Nicky shut down Gabby’s advances to be physically intimate before telling her their wedding needed to be pushed forward because his ‘dad’ had prostate cancer.

Gabby was sympathetic and told Nicky she loved him, but he didn’t say it back.

But fans pointed out a glaring error as they watched Caleb hack the laptop after he had snuck into Kim’s lavish Home Farm property and successfully installed spyware on her laptop.

Viewers notice on Kim’s screen the password to her online banking was asterisked, whilst on Caleb’s it wasn’t.

Viewers took to Twitter to point out the blunder.

‘I know the #Emmerdale writers aren’t the smartest but if Caleb had gone to all this trouble to access Kim’s laptop surely he’d get a key logger installed so he wouldn’t have to wait for her to access her accounts and write down the password!,’ one fan wrote.

‘Aren’t passwords normally asterisks or dots??#Emmerdale,’ another added.

‘Surely the password show up as dots and not as words,’ typed a different fan.

Caleb recently discovered Ally and Nicky’s latest liaison, and feared that their plan could be blown apart if he fails to marry Gabby.

Confronting his son, he warned that their family face financial ruin if they don’t take over the farm.

The episode ended with Caleb violently grabbing Nicky and ordering him to play along, or he would ‘destroy’ him.

Nicky then arranged to meet with Ally after growing tired to his controlling father and their plan.

Caleb’s plan continued to fall into place, having manipulated his sister Moira into selling her beloved farm, unaware Nicky was having second thoughts.

But later, he spotted Nicky kissing Ally after they enjoyed a steamy afternoon together, and quickly confronted his son.
