Betsy-Blue English has landed two lead roles in brand new Netflix shows, after moving to Los Angeles in a bid to break America.

The actress, 24, shot to fame on The X Factor’s 2014 series with her band Only The Young, where they reached an impressive seventh place.

But she’s now relocated across the pond and is enjoying an exciting career resurgence, with her first project set for a November release.

She’s also been snapped up for the lead role in a big movie being released this year, from the creators of the new Winnie The Pooh horror.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Betsy’s so incredibly excited to be able to start a career stateside. She’s been acting professionally since she was 12 and these are the opportunities she’s dreamed of.

‘Betsy’s managed to secure a leading role in two TV shows and a couple of movies. It’s all happened very quickly.

‘One of the television shows is created by the team behind 13 Reasons Why and The OA, and many more huge series she’s a fan of.’

While she’s been bitten by the acting bug, it’s unclear whether Betsy will put her singing talents to use in the series she’s been cast in.

Her previous credits include Hulu’s Four Weddings And A Funeral, BBC’s The Tracey Ullman Show and the comedy film, The Bromley Boys.

But she’s not just flourishing in her career. Betsy got engaged in January to talented songwriter and producer David Stewart, who wrote Dynamite by BTS.

The mega-hit sold over 20 million copies and was named one of the biggest selling songs of the decade. He’s also penned number ones for The Jonas Brothers, Shania Twain and Ava Max, to name just a few.

On Tuesday night, Betsy mingled with Hollywood’s finest as she attended the Dolce & Gabbana heritage event at Chateau Marmont.

Back in 2021, Betsy revealed she was ‘spiked’ with an injection during a night out.

The former singer took to her Instagram to share the ordeal with her followers as she urged others to ‘stay very vigilant’.

She told how she had been out celebrating over Halloween last weekend in London when the incident occurred.

Betsy wrote: ‘I didn’t want to post this but after much thought this week, I feel its irresponsible not to.

‘Someone tried to spike me using an injection at the weekend.

‘We’ve seen all the social media posts, heard the stories but it’s seriously real and it’s happening.’

She shared a picture of her punctured skin alongside the post, which also appeared to be bruised.

She then warned her supporters to keep their wits about them as it ‘really doesn’t matter where you are.’

Betsy continued: ‘I’ve only ever been spiked by high profile people…doesn’t matter how safe you feel with your surroundings, stay very vigilant.

‘I’m literally only posting this to raise more awareness.’

Betsy rose to fame after her stint on the talent show before branching out into fashion, designing and acting.
