There is a surprise guest who has been added to the Pyramid lineup, who goes by the artist name of the ChurnUps.

According to the Guardian, they have no online footprint and fans are convinced the name is really a secret world-famous act.

While organisers have remained tight-lipped about their identity, they are taking on a coveted slot on Friday night.

The entire lineup, including timings and stages, is available to view on the Glastonbury website.

Back in March, Glastonbury Festival organiser Emily Eavis spoke out in defence of the ‘boring’ line-up of all male acts after Arctic Monkeys and Guns N’ Roses were announced as the final two headliners, joining Sir Elton John at the top of the bill.

Out of the 30 headline acts announced since 2010 only four have been women – Beyonce, Adele, Billie Eilish, Florence and the Machine – with Emily claiming it’s due to a ‘problem in the pipeline.’

She told The Guardian: ‘We’re trying our best so the pipeline needs to be developed. This starts way back with the record companies, radio. I can shout as loud as I like but we need to get everyone on board.’

She added that they remain ‘entirely focused on balancing our bill. It’s not just about gender, it’s about every aspect of diversity.’

Emily went on to commit to having two female headliners next year and said Lizzo – who will perform just before Guns N’ Roses – would have been booked to headline this year but the positions had already been locked in by the male acts.

Elton’s upcoming show on the Pyramid stage on Sunday June 25, will mark the final ever UK show on Elton’s record breaking Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

He had previously announced a final show in 2019 after vowing to never tour again, however, he’s since done a U-turn and has taken to the road after having a ‘restful break at home’ – with his current tour now being his last.

And the Arctic Monkeys have big things planned for their set.

The Sheffield band are said to have already started preparations for the gig, which will be the third time they have played at the iconic festival and 10 years since they last appeared on the world famous Pyramid Stage.

A source told The Sun in September: ‘Alex Turner and the band are coming back to Glastonbury, and this time their set is going to be even bigger and better.

‘The lads have signed on the dotted line and will return to the Pyramid Stage next June.

‘It is really special for them to be doing a hat-trick on that stage and it is something they have wanted to do for a while.

‘After the festival dates lined up with their upcoming tour they said they couldn’t not play there again.

‘The band are in the process of putting together their team and are working on making their performance one of Glastonbury’s most memorable.’

The group consists of frontman Alex, 36, and includes guitarist Jamie Cook, 37, bassist Nick O’Malley, also 37, and 36-year-old drummer Matt Helders.
