‘They are in contact’: Liam and Noel Gallagher ‘taking steps to rebuild their relationship’ after fuelling rumours of an Oasis reunion

Liam and Noel Gallagher are reportedly ‘taking steps to rebuild their relationship’ after the elder brother fuelled rumours of an Oasis reunion.

The brothers are said to have made plans of attending a Manchester City game together or going for a walk near their homes in North London.

Last week, Noel, 55, said Liam, 50, could ‘give me a ring’ and put their years of feuding behind them in order to take to the stage together once more.

And now a source has claimed ‘the wheels are in motion’, 14 years since the band’s dramatic 2009 split after a backstage bust-up.

The music insider told The Sun: ‘Noel and Liam are in contact behind closed doors. They are tentatively taking steps to meet up and rebuild their relationship.’

They added: ‘There’s a lot of lost time to make up for and both have missed out on ups and downs in each other’s lives.

‘They need to patch up their brotherly bond before they even think about getting back in the studio for an Oasis reunion, but the wheels are in motion.’

The source claimed that the brother’s are looking to meet up in the near future and ‘don’t mind’ reunion rumours from Oasis fans.

MailOnline had contacted representatives of both Liam and Noel for comment.

It comes after Noel fulled further rumours of an Oasis reunion 14 years after the iconic band’s split.

Just last week rocker Liam insisted a reunion was ‘happening’ when responding to a fan on Twitter.

Following the remarks, Noel said on French radio, France Inter: ‘[Liam has] got my number. He’s got my manager’s number. Call us.’

In regards to the Tweet he said: ‘There’s something in the papers back in England today, you know… but he should get his people to call my people’.

‘They know who they are. They know where we are’. Stop talking on the f***ing internet and let’s see what you’ve got to say.’

Asked by the host if all it could take to reunite the duo was a phone call, the Wonderwall singer replied: ‘You would think, right? He’s got my number. He’s got my manager’s number. Call us. But you know what? He won’t call.’

However Liam then took to his Twitter once more to slam his older brother for ‘damaging’ the iconic band.

Seemingly in reference to Noel’s interview he wrote: ‘Here’s how I see it the little fella aka potato has done a lot of damage to Oasis as a band / brand he’s got a lot of making up to do not just to me but to you the fans the people that put us where we are tday [sic] as you were’.

MailOnline have contacted reps for Liam for comment.
