MasterChef fan favourite Mindy Woods, 40, and her wife Rachelle Bakarich have splurged $1.725million on a charming beach house 20km north of Byron Bay.

Located in the tiny village of New Brighton, on the NSW north coast, the two-storey converted ‘fisherman’s shack’, features four-bedrooms and two-bathrooms.

Originally built in the 1970s, the gorgeous 665sqm block last went under the hammer for $503,000 in 2014 reports The Daily Telegraph.

Situated a stone’s throw from the beach, highlights include over-sized windows on the upper level which slide open to make the most of the sea breeze.

Meanwhile, Mindy and Rachelle, who married in 2017, sold off their Gosford home in 2020 for $595,000.

Mindy, who was eliminated on MasterChef’s Fans and Favourites season last year, opened her Karkalla restaurant in Byron Bay in 2020.

The former physiotherapist, who came fourth in the 4th season of MasterChef, said she was proud to end her time on the show with finalists Billie McKay and Julie Goodwin.

She launched Mexican inspired plant-based foods and dishes with Gourmet Earth after first appearing on MasterChef in 2012.
