Former AFL WAG Nadia Bartel has reflected on headline-making scandals during an interview with The Morning Show on Monday.

The Henne designer was famously filmed ‘snorting white powder’ and breaking Melbourne’s strict lockdown in September 2021.

Nadia spoke about ‘owning her mistakes’ during the tough interview.

‘Whenever you have time to reflect and take a step back and really focus on the people around you that really do know you,’ Nadia began.

‘For me, I’ve got really long-term friends who I have been really close with for the last 20 years and a really close family. They can help to lift you up when you are feeling in a flat place,’ she said.

The star said she has ‘leaned’ on them quite a lot as she usually does during difficult or challenging times in her life.

‘I did lean on them quite a lot as I kind of have throughout my whole life when difficult things have happened,’ she added.

Nadia also admitted she had to dig deep and rely on her own ‘inner strength’ too in order to deal with the turmoil.

‘But I think you’re always got your own inner strength in something like that as well. And when you know who you are…It’s nice to call on those close people around me.’

The star added she’s putting all her energy into her business and her two sons, Aston and Henley.

Nadia is in town to show Henne’s new collection at Afterpay Australian Fashion Week in Sydney which is happening this week.

The interview comes after Nadia broke her silence to Stellar magazine last month about the ‘snorting scandal’, saying she is hurt her actions ‘disappointed people whose opinion means the world to me’.

‘I made a big mistake. And I accept that. I just feel there’s a real, ongoing pursuit for it – still. And that’s what feels very hurtful,’ she said.

The Henne creator said she initially wanted to share her story and ‘speak her truth’ but realised people will always have their own opinions.

‘I just want my actions to speak louder than any words,’ she added.

‘The social media reaction was very negative towards me and it hurt a lot. What hurt more was the feeling that I’d let people down who I love and whose opinion means the world to me.’

Nadia also explained on Instagram how her interview has given her a ‘sense of peace and an opportunity to now move on’.

‘I own my mistakes and will continue to focus on what’s real around me and in time, my actions will speak louder than any words,’ she said.

Back in September 2021, Nadia’s business partner Ellie Pearson filmed her breaking lockdown rules and snorting white powder at an illegal gathering.

In the video, the former WAG famously snorted white powder off a $1.50 Kmart plate at an illegal gathering at a friends house.

Ellie accidentally uploaded the footage on her Instagram page, with Nadia breaking her silence with a public apology one day later.

‘Hi everyone, I have let you all down by my actions. I take full responsibility and I am committed to taking all necessary steps to ensure I make better choices in future,’ Nadia wrote in a post.

‘To my family and friends, my business partners and the public health workers trying to keep us all safe, I am embarrassed and remorseful.

‘I am truly and deeply sorry. I hope I can earn your forgiveness and, in time, your trust.’

At the time private and public gatherings were not permitted in Melbourne, where Bartel lives, under Victoria’s strict Covid restrictions.

'I made a big mistake. And I accept that. I just feel there's a real, ongoing pursuit for it – still. And that's what feels very hurtful,' she said

Nadia’s apology – which included an appeal for forgiveness from health workers – appeared to confirm the gathering was held on Thursday, September 2.

A later report claimed the video first found its way online due to Ellie having a cracked phone screen.

It’s alleged she was attempting to send the video to her sister; however, because her phone screen was damaged, she hit the wrong buttons.

As a result, the clip was posted to both Instagram and Facebook, and was online for about 10 minutes before being deleted, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

But it was quickly copied by others and shared around.

Nadia and three other women were each fined $5,452 after damning footage of the party was posted on Instagram.

Nadia wasn’t charged with drug offences, because police couldn’t prove what she was snorting.
