Nadia Sawalha branded Alex Jones’ claims her ex-boyfriend Steve Jones pretending she was ill to interview Angelina Jolie as ‘shocking’ and ‘underhand’.
The Loose Women panel discussed the TV presenter’s bombshell revelations about the reason behind why she broke up with T4 presenter Steve on Friday’s show.
Presenters, Alex, 46, dated Steve, also 46, from 1999-2002 and claimed they split after he told TV bosses she wasn’t feeling well when they called asking her to interview the Hollywood actress so he could interview Angelina instead,
Sparking the debate: ‘Do you put your job before your relationship?’, Nadia said she too would promptly have ended the relationship if it happened to her.
The panellist, 58, said: ‘If it’s true, because he hasn’t confirmed or denied. I can’t think of anything more shocking.

‘That’s more shocking to me than coming home to finding him in bed with someone else. That’s so underhand. To steal from your…
Kaye Adams replied: ‘It’s a cut throat business.’
Nadia continued: ‘That would be the end for me. It’s not necessarily about Angelina Jolie or anything but to lie to get your partner’s job, if he did, it is shocking.’
Moving the conversation on, Kaye asked: ‘I suppose it’s unusual to be in direct competition in their job but there will be times for most people where you have to favour one person’s job or the other, how do you make that balance?’
Jane Moore added: ‘For me when they talk about trust in relationships is a much wider thing. Are you sure they have your back? Are you a unit? Are you making decisions together?’
While Linda said she always sits the family down and ask them their opinion, Nadia delved into her relationship with her husband of 20 years Mark Adderley.
She said: ‘I would say my relationship to me is more important than my career because career can come and go.
‘Mark years ago he really did suffer with jealousy between us. We’re both very fiery Scorpios. He’s done so much work on that, I do find that so admirable. It’s just brilliant how much work he has put into it.
‘So there’s certain jobs that I just wouldn’t do – not because he would say to me not to do it, because he never would but that would be a difficult thing.

‘I wouldn’t do something like Strictly just because I know it could be difficult.
‘If I went home now and said “oh I’ve been asked to do Strictly” he would say go for it and I know possibly what that cost could be.’
It comes after Alex discussed what happened with Dish podcast hosts Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett on Monday.
Alex said she worked as an entertainment correspondent on Channel 4 show Rise when the opportunity to interview Angelina Jolie rose, until Steve stole the show.
‘Normally they would call in the morning and ask to come and do an interview or a junket’, Alex shared.
‘I was staying in his flat at the time when I was working in London and he picked up the landline and said “Al’s not here. She’s not feeling well, she’s had to go back to Cardiff”, I was in Topshop.’
‘So he did the interview’, she claimed.

TV presenters, Alex and Steve, dated from 1999-2002, and later reunited to present Let’s Dance For Comic Relief, remaining close friends for the show.
In 2003, Steve landed a presenting job on weekend show T4 after he interviewed Angelina on the red carpet, and revealed at the time he had split from Alex.
Alex has previously told the story, admitting she broke up with her partner over the betrayal, but has never before named Steve as the culprit.
Speaking on the podcast Thanks A Million with Angela Scanlon, Alex previously said: ‘And so I got back to the flat and was like, where is he? Hours went past, nobody answering their phones and in the end thought, right I’m going to drive back to Cardiff, because I don’t know where you are, you’ve probably gone to the pub.
‘And then the production company called, and they were like, we’ve got bit of a situation. Tomorrow morning your boyfriend is going to the premiere with Angelina Jolie and it it would be really funny if you came on the line, live on the show and surprise him and said that you know exactly what he’s been up to.
‘So again, I said “yes, so on live telly I’m like,” you lied to me, where have you been? So yeah, not surprisingly, we split up live on telly!”‘
