NRL star Sam Burgess and his pregnant girlfriend Lucy Graham are expecting their first child together.

And the happy couple were spotted for the first time since announcing the happy news, looking all-loved-up at the glamorous Longines Queen Elizabeth Stake Day in Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Despite only going public with their relationship six months ago, Sam and Lucy were ecstatic to share with the world two weeks ago that they’re expecting a baby soon.

Lucy was glowing at the star-studded event as she showed a hint of a baby bump in a long black cut-out gown.

The dress featured a sheer bottom with two cut outs at her chest and torso and puffed sleeves.

Her long blonde locks were pinned back off her face with a black headband and she opted for a full-glam makeup look with a dark eye and nude-pink lip.

She kept accessories to a minimum with silver earrings and a black YSL envelope clutch bag.

The mother-to-be matched her gown with a pair of strappy black heeled sandals.

She looked ecstatic as she stood beside her NRL boyfriend Sam, 34, who looked dapper in a navy suit.

He paired the suit with a pale blue shirt and patterned blue tie with black dress shoes.

Two weeks ago, the retired NRL great confirmed the happy news to Daily Mail Australia that he and his new girlfriend are expecting their first child together.

‘We are so excited and happy to be starting this new chapter together… Happy days,’ he said in a statement.

Lucy, who hails from the UK, recently made the decision to move Down Under permanently and it’s believed her pregnancy was the reason.

Burgess is already a doting father to his two children Poppy, four, and son Billy, three, with his ex-wife Phoebe Hooke, and while he isn’t able to see them as much as he’d like, he provides for them unconditionally.

Friends say they are ‘beyond excited’ Sam is starting a new chapter with Lucy by his side.

‘He’s mad about Lucy. It’s been a whirlwind but she is a fantastic woman. They get along so well. All of his friends are so thrilled to see how happy he makes her,’ a close friend said.

‘The Burgesses are very family oriented and I think there was always a plan to start a family. From what I hear, she is genuinely good for him. When they’re together apparently they laugh all the time – she cracks him up.’

Burgess, who was born in West Yorkshire, England, has known Lucy for about 20 years.

Her identity was revealed in October last year, after he took her as his date to the premiere of Russell Crowe’s film Poker Face in Rome.

Lucy is the co-founder of the sustainable fashion label Sentenced, which launched in September 2019.

Sam found love with Lucy after a series of flings that followed his acrimonious split from Phoebe in January 2019.

Pia Whitesell and Samantha Armytage led red carpet arrivals at the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Former Home and Away star Pia, 39, looked nothing short of incredible as she showed off her trim figure in a white strapless dress.

Ex-Sunrise host Sam, 46, stepped out in a classic navy outfit and an eye-catching beret to watch the $5million race trackside.

The pair joined a host of stars at the event, including racing royalty Kate Waterhouse and cricketing couple Steve Smith and Dani Willis.

Other familiar faces at the event included the likes of Nikki Phillips, Cameron Robbie, and celebrity trainer Jono Castano and his model girlfriend Simone Holtznagel.

Some stars and race ambassadors pushed the fashion boundaries on the day, wearing rather bizarre and eye-catching headwear.

Former Home and Away star Pia looked incredible as she hit the racetrack in a sleeveless and simple white dress.

Pia’s frock featured a corset design and a pale blue stich detailing on the front.

She teamed the look with simple white heels and pulled her dark locks back and off her face.

The actress and model, 39, attended the event with her American Hollywood agent husband Patrick Whitesell, 58, who looked dapper in a beige suit and blue tie.

Samantha, who is now the host of Farmer Wants a Wife, wore a navy silk blouse with a high-waisted and thigh split navy skirt.

She added height to her frame wearing Dior slingback heels, worth a cool $1,490, wore a navy quilted beret and chunky gold earrings.

Samantha knows a thing or two about the racing industry as her husband Richard Lavender is a millionaire equestrian businessman.

Richard is a stakeholder of Lavender Equestrian, which offers a variety of services for horses in the region, including breeding and training.

However, Sam appeared to fly solo on the race day.

Kate Waterhouse, 39, looked sensational as she showed off her trim pins in a pale blue frock.

Kate, who is the daughter of horse trainer Gai Waterhouse, wore a structured dress by designer Toni Maticevski.

She teamed the look with red leather shoes by Ferragamo and a netted bow headband.

Cricketing couple Steve Smith, 33, and wife Dani Willis, 32, enjoyed a date day at the races on Saturday.

Sports star Steve wore a pair of beige trousers, which he teamed with a white shirt and a green jacket.

Dani opted for a white trouser suit, which she teamed with a beige hat and net and a black and white Bulgari bag.

Model and influencer Nikki Phillips, 40, caught the eye in a colourful black floral jumpsuit which she teamed with an embellished akubra hat.

She added height to her slender frame in a pair of pointed black heels.

Cameron Robbie, Margot Robbie’s actor brother, 28, looked smart in a navy pinstripe suit jacket and grey trousers.
