And they’re off! Samantha Armytage joins Pia Whitesell, racing royalty Kate Waterhouse and cricket couple Steve Smith and Dani Willis at the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day – as some stars wear VERY bizarre headwear

Samantha Armytage led red carpet arrivals at the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day at Royal Randwick on Saturday. 

The former Sunrise host, 46, stepped out in a classic navy outfit and an eye-catching beret to watch the $5million race trackside. 

Samantha joined a host of stars at the event, including former Home and Away star Pia Whitesell, racing royalty Kate Waterhouse and cricketing couple Steve Smith and Dani Willis.

Other familiar faces at the event included the likes of Nikki Phillips, Cameron Robbie, and celebrity trainer Jono Castano and his model girlfriend Simone Holtznagel. 

Some stars and race ambassadors pushed the fashion boundaries on the day, wearing rather bizarre and eye-catching headwear.

Samantha, who is now the host of Farmer Wants a Wife, wore a navy silk blouse with a high-waisted and thigh split navy skirt. 

She added height to her frame wearing Dior slingback heels, worth a cool $1,490, wore a navy quilted beret and chunky gold earrings.
