State of Origin fans have ripped into organisers for choosing The Living End as pre-game entertainment for Game One on Wednesday night.

The ’90s rockers took to the stage at Adelaide Oval to belt out their iconic 2008 hit White Noise for the packed crowd with mixed results.

‘The Living End, wow is it still 1998 in Adelaide?’ one fan wrote on the social media platform.

A number of other spectators at home were quick to echo the sentiment.
