New photos show The Block homes have a LONG way to go as construction continues just weeks out from the show’s premiere – after weeks of feuding between producers and neighbours

The new season of The Block is set to premiere later this year.

But the homes being built by the teams look nowhere near ready, as shown in these exclusive photos obtained by Daily Mail Australia.

Despite some having roofs installed, the homes still need walls and have scaffolding around them.

Building materials, cranes and scissor lifts are also visible on the construction sites.

The front of all five properties are filled with mud and yet to be landscaped.

It comes just weeks after official ‘for sale’ signs went up out the front of each of the properties.

The signs revealed the final designs for each of the homes before they have even been completed by the contestants.

Filming of The Block 2023 began in March in Charming Street but the locals aren’t happy with the production.

Angry residents claim they are effectively being pushed out of their neighbourhood by tradesmen and producers who have converged on five classic brick homes in the street.

Back in March, some residents were upset when asked by Nine to move their cars so a 1950s-themed commercial for the hit reality TV program could be filmed.

‘The Channel Nine producers’ handling of it has been nothing short of a joke,’ one resident said.

‘He literally told residents to move our cars but was okay for him to park wherever he liked.’

Daily Mail Australia visited the building site on March 27. Most neighbours seemed generally satisfied with the network’s dealings with them, but others were not so happy, and expressed concern the street was at risk of losing its charm altogether.

The properties were snapped up by MicJoy Pty Ltd, a company owned by Nine, in separate off-market deals for a whopping $14.3 million.

The most expensive of the bunch, 20 Charming St, cost a whopping $3.5m when it was bought last July.

Only one of the five properties purchased along the row of homes at numbers 14, 16, 18, 20, and 22 has two bedrooms. The other four boast three to four bedrooms.
