The real reason Sam Mac was invited to the celebrity wedding of the year alongside megastars

Sunrise funnyman Sam Mac, 41, has revealed the real reason why he ended up on the guest list for what promises to be the celebrity wedding of the year.

The Channel Seven weather reporter rubbed shoulders with the Hollywood elite last week-end when Aussie Snowboarder Scotty James married billionaire heiress Chloe Stroll.

And it turns out that Scotty is the brother of Sam’s partner, Bec. 

Among the guests at the high profile nuptials in Venice, Italy were Michael Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones; Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York and Taylor Hill, a former Victoria’s Secret angel. 

Sam took to Instagram on Thursday to post highlights from the spectacular wedding weekend.

The Channel Seven weather reporter rubbed shoulders with the Hollywood elite last week-end when Aussie Snowboarder Scotty James married billionaire heiress Chloe Stroll. And it turns out that Scotty is the brother of Sam’s partner, Bec – pictured with Sam in Venice 

He included a picture of himself posing with his celebrity stylist girlfriend riding in a boat as it sails through one of the city’s famous canals. 

‘Venezia! That’s what us locals call it, been here 5 days,’ he said in the caption, adding:  ‘No, we did NOT get married – cue the Daily Mail articles…but Bec’s little bro did…’

The notorious prankster also included a photo of himself looking uncharacteristically suave in a stylish tuxedo.

He also included a video of Bec posing in a gorgeous black gown.

Several of Sam’s weekend highlight’s include Margot, the four-month daughter he shares with Bec.

In one family snap, the beautiful little tot can be seen posing with her mum and dad as they take a gondola ride.

There’s also a pic of Sam, looking every bit the proud dad, having a game with Margot, with the city of Venice as a back drop.

Sam also added a clip of Margot enjoying a gondola ride with her father, dressed in a pink jump suit, with matching sun-glasses and blue hat.

There are also pics and video of the groomsman, including Sam, crowded into an elevator.

It comes after Scotty James, 28, tied the knot with billionaire bride Chloe Stroll, 27, the daughter of F1 Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll, at the weekend.

Daniel Ricciardo, a former Australian F1 driver, was among the groomsmen.

Chloe is also the sister of F1 driver Lance Stroll, who introduced the couple.

The wedding was a luxurious affair, as Chloe’s F1 boss father is reportedly worth around $3billion USD.

Chloe and Scotty got engaged in November 2021 after he got down on one knee in the middle of the snow in Switzerland.

Other notable guests include former Australian F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo, who is a groomsman and Sarah Ferguson.
