Timber! William H. Macy is sued for $600K by neighbor who claims actor ordered landscapers to cut down trees on neighbor’s property without permission

William H. Macy has been sued for $600,000 by his neighbor Pierce Brown, who says the actor ‘knowingly and intentionally’ ordered landscapers to chop down trees on his property.

Brown’s legal team said last week in docs filed in Superior Court of Los Angeles County that the Oscar-nominated Fargo actor, 73, did considerable damage to his property in having the trees removed in December of 2021, People reported.

Attorneys for Brown said in court docs, ‘Macy’s workers … destroyed and removed or seriously damaged several healthy, decades-old mature pine trees and other vegetation from the Brown Property.’

Brown’s legal team said that ‘pine trees and other vegetation’ that were eliminated at Macy’s command ‘were located well inside of the Brown Property line.’

Workers for The Cooler star ‘damaged the gate that connected the two properties’ while ‘accessing the Brown’ property, Brown’s attorneys said.

The workers, acting upon orders from The Shameless star, did ‘damage to and destabilization of the hillside itself’ adjacent to the neighboring properties, Brown’s lawyers said.

Brown told the court he was vacationing at the time Macy’s crew did the work, and that the Boogie Nights actor ‘came to Brown’s door to discuss the condition of Brown’s hillside’ the month after.

Brown’s attorneys said Macy ‘acknowledged the entry of his workmen onto the Brown property, their lack of permission to do so, and their destruction and removal of, and damage to, the Brown’s trees and vegetation.’

Brown says the $600,000 he is suing for accounts for ‘loss of property value, loss of use and enjoyment of his property, a loss of privacy, an increase in noise, as well as emotional distress, irritation, annoyance, and discomfort.’

Macy is father to daughters Sofia, 22, and Georgia, 21, with wife Felicity Huffman, 60.

He remained a loyal presence at his wife’s side during her legal troubles with the college admissions scandal in 2019 (which also involved actress Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli).

Huffman pleaded guilty in the case and was sentenced to 14 days in prison with a $30,000 fine and a year of supervised release.
