American DJ Skrillex joins Aussie acts Mallrat and Young Franco for the return of the Listen Out festival

Grammy award-winning American electro DJ Skrillex will be returning to Australia for the first time in five years for the Listen Out 2023 festival in September.

The 35-year-old – whose real name is Sonny John Moore – will be joining a stellar line-up for the popular Aussie dance and rap music extravaganza, including U.S stars Ice Spice, Jpegmafia and Lil Uzi Vert.

Skrillex last toured Australia with the Listen Out festival in 2018. 

Australian acts appearing at the dance event include Brisbane-born pop singer Mallrat, DJ Young Franco and Handsome.

The festival kicks off in Brisbane on September 23 before travelling to Perth for a gig on September 24.

A show in Melbourne follows on September 29, before the festival finishes up in Sydney on September 30. 

Meanwhile the smaller Listen In festival, will play in Adelaide and Auckland, also featuring Skrillex.

Other performers announced in the main line-up include English DJ Friction, U.S. singer/rapper Coi Leray and UK.’s electro-pop musician Four Tet.

American Kenny Beats, meanwhile, will be appearing at Listen Out for the first time, while English singers Piri and Venbee will also make their Aussie debut at the festival.

U.S. Hip Hop star Metro Boomin also joins the line-up alongside YouTube electo star Marc Rebillet and British rapper Arrdee, 

Other performer appearing include JBEE, Jyoty, Spinall, and Yuné Pinku.

Fans can expect further additions to the line-up in the following weeks, including the announcement of emerging Aussie artists in each city as part of Triple J’s Unearthed program.
