Britney Spears reunited with her mother Lynne for the first time in years on Wednesday.

The Grammy-winning singer and her mother met at her home in Southern California and the mother and daughter spent a half-hour catching up, a source told TMZ.

According to the report from the outlet, the Oops!…I Did It Again artist ‘was receptive enough to let her inside her home and spend some time catching up’ after years of dissension between them stemming from the longtime conservatorship Britney lived under Lynne’s husband Jamie controlled. 

Lynne flew from her native Louisiana to LAX early Wednesday, TMZ reported, and was taken to the resident of Britney’s manager Cade Hudson. From there, she took an Uber to the home the singer shares with husband Sam Asghari, 29.

Britney was aware that her mother would be visiting, but did not know exactly when, a source told the outlet. Britney and her mother spent about a half-hour together, the source said, noting Asghari was also on hand.

Long time coming: Lynne reached out to Britney in an Instagram post last year 

Britney and her mother have been gradually getting on better terms with one another recently, and Lynne decided the timing was right for an in-person reconciliation, a source told TMZ. 

Lynne has been ‘committed to making it right with her daughter,’ a source told the outlet, and Wednesday’s meeting was a step in that direction.

Following Lynne’s departure from the home, Britney and her husband went out for a drive, the source told the outlet.

Last fall, Britney ripped Lynne in a social media post after her mom asked her to unblock her on Instagram.

The Toxic artist wrote in October, ‘Mom take your apology and go f*** yourself!!! And to all the doctors for f***ing with my mind … I pray you all burn in hell!!! Kiss my mother f***ing ass!!!!’

In her initial post, Britney brought up her own medical history and traumatic experiences she suffered in relation to her relatives.

‘For 13 years, I had to meet doctors weekly to bring up my past which made it worse!!!’ she said. ‘As for my whole family including my brother, sister, cousins, aunts, uncles, and well damn the whole audience… were either stoned or drunk of their a**es!!’

The Oops!… I Did It Again vocalist said she ‘was the mother f***ing Saint who was scared to move’ or her father Jamie Spears would put her somewhere if [she] didn’t cooperate … even in America, the land of the free!!!!’

Spears said after her father Jamie still put her ‘in a psych ward,’ not one mother f***ing person stood up for’ her.

Lynne commented on one of the …Baby One More Time singer’s posts about her grievances with her family, apologizing to Britney and asking her to unblock her.

‘I’m sooo sorry for your pain!’ she said. ‘I have been sorry for years! I love you so much and miss you! Please unblock me so I can speak to you in person! Britney, deep down you know how much I love and miss you! I apologize for anything and everything that’s hurt you!’

In August of 2022, Lynne shared a throwback image of herself laughing with Britney in a forest, along with a caption in which she said she has done all she could to support her, and that she hoped to have a face-to-face chat with her to smooth over the issues.

Lynne later commented on the post, ‘I am soooo sorry for your pain! I have been sorry for years! I love you so much and miss you!

She added: ‘Your rejections to the countless times I have flown out and calls make me feel hopeless! I have tried everything. I love you so much, but this talk is for you and me only, eye to eye, in private.’

In July of 2022, Britney said that Lynne had been instrumental in planning for her to be involuntary committed prior to the commencement of the conservatorship in 2008.

Britney said in a Notes app post that Lynne had been with her just before she was put on a 5150 hold; removed photos of her from the family homes.

‘Did you tell them every morning when I would try to find coffee there were no pictures of me up in the kitchen, just Maddie and Jamie Lynn???’ Britney said. ‘Ever single morning I would put a picture of me by you guys … and every morning you would put it away before I woke up.’
