The Brooklyn Academy Of Music held its annual gala, a celebration of its artists, patrons and supporters on Wednesday, all while helping to raise funds to ensure BAM’s ‘place as the home for adventurous artists, audiences, and ideas.’
Ethan Hawke and wife Ryan Hawke were among the celebrities to lend their support to the BAM Gala 2023 honoring Spike Lee, David Byrne and Claire Wood, which was held at the Howard Gilman Opera House in New York borough of Brooklyn.
Ahead of all the festivities, that included Hanif Abdurraqib as host and St. Vincent as the headlining performer, the Hawkes joined the other celebrities and made their way along the red carpet for a round or two of photos.
The four-time Oscar-nominated actor, 52, looked handsome in a classic black suit and tie that he matched with a white dress shirt black leather shoes.
For the most part, the Dead Poets Society star held hands with his wife (born Ryan Shawhughes), 40, who opted for color for her ensemble in a long ruffled skirt and a matching blouse.

The actress and producer’s skirt consisted of orange, burgundy, blue, black, red and white, and it fell all the way down to her feet.
She also donned a blue blouse, which appeared to be a perfect match to the outfit, while carrying a red clutch purse.
Rounding out her overall look, Ryan wore brown open-toe heels, and had her blonde tresses styled long, straight and flowing several inches past her shoulders with a part on the left.
The couple, who will be celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary on June 8, continued holding hands as they slowly made their way in front of photographers.
Spike Lee, who’s one of the gala’s honorees showed off his unique sense of style by wearing a black suit, consisting of high-water slacks, with an orange tie, white shirt and blue and white high-top sneakers.
The famed director and actor, 66, also donned an orange and blue hat over his short black hair and white, large-frame glasses.
Another honoree, David Byrne, decided to make the event a family affair by brining his daughter Malu Byrne, 34, to the annual event.
The legendary Talking Heads frontman was all smiles while decked out in white pants, a white turtleneck shirt underneath a blue blazer, and white sneakers.

Known for her mix of edgy and elegance, St. Vincent (born Anne Erin Clark) stepped out for a round of photos rocking a black leather mini dress that hugged her toned curves.
The outfit also included a sheer black top, although only the short sleeves were visible underneath the top portion of the striking number.
The Melting Of The Sun musician, 40, also wore black stockings and black knee-high boots, and had her ever-changing hair dyed black and cut shorter that usual, over her ears with a slight center part.
Actress Gina Gershon has also been known to show off her penchant for edgy fashion at times, but on this night she went for a more chic look in a black, one-shoulder jumpsuit that at times was paired with a white blazer.
The Showgirls star, 60, also wore black shoes, carried a cool white and black purse, and had her dark tresses styled long, past her shoulders, and slightly mess with a part on the slight left.

The actor, 44, who best known for his role on The Wire, was absolutely beaming as he flashed his smile the entire time he posed on the red carpet.
Patina Miller sowed off her fashion sense in a two-tone white dress that consisted of a solid-white pattern in the front and sheer fabric in the back, which helped showcase her fab figure.
The Sister Act star of Broadway and the West End, 38, also wore open-toe heels, and had her long locks pulled into a ponytail.

Showing her daring side, the comedian and actress, 36, wore a black suit, that consisted of a blazer, without a shirt underneath, and her dark hair styled with all her natural waves and curls, about shoulder-length with a center part.
By going shirtless the New York City native gave more than a hint of her cleavage, while also risking a wardrobe malfunction.
Rooklin, 42, who’s a scientist, wore black slacks with a light tan dress shirt and black shoes, as she snuggled up next to his wife and held hands for the round of photos.

Founded in 1861, the Brooklyn Academy Of Music (BAM) is a performing arts venue in Brooklyn, New York, often known as a center for progressive and avant-garde performance.
